over
Co-founded and directed by Gilles Parmentier and Jean-Marc Dimanche, this distinctive fair with a bold vision has been challenging the conventions of the art market since January 2024.
Set in the exceptional surroundings of Tour & Taxis, it attracts nearly 20,000 visitors each year, demonstrating that ceramics is a major, vibrant medium in contemporary artistic practice.
Much more than an art fair, ceramic brussels serves as a dynamic laboratory for dialogue and encounters, bringing together galleries, institutions, artists, collectors and enthusiasts through an extensive programme of discussions, exhibitions and debates.
doelstellingen
The fair champions the promotion and recognition of ceramics at the heart of contemporary art.
Its long-term vision, rooted in Brussels Art Week, is built around three complementary pillars:
↘ A global showcase highlighting the diversity of contemporary artistic approaches by bringing together nearly 70 international exhibitors, with the active support of key partners and institutions worldwide.
↘ A springboard for emerging talent supporting the artists of tomorrow through the ceramic brussels art prize, a European open call overseen by a distinguished international jury.
↘ A hub for business and networking supporting the development of a growing market and encouraging dialogue and collaboration between artists, galleries and art professionals.
ontwikkeling
The fair leads numerous initiatives to establish its place on the international calendar.
Since 2024, ceramic brussels has given carte blanche to a guest artist of honour, notably dedicating a monumental exhibition space at the entrance to the fair to their work: Johan Creten (BE) in 2024, Elizabeth Jaeger (USA) in 2025 and Elmar Trenkwalder (AT) in 2026.
In 2027, artist Marion Verboom (FR) will be the guest of honour for the fourth edition.
Since 2025, the fair has officially expanded its scope to include modern ceramics and glass. It also highlights selected national art scenes through a country focus: Norway in 2025 and Spain in 2026.
This ambition is also reflected in a range of initiatives for art professionals, VIPs and the international press.
scenografie
