La peau de l'ours
A10 ●Founded in 2017 by Thomas Ghaye and located in the upper part of Brussels, La peau de l’ours is a contemporary art gallery centred on the dialogue between material, technique and meaning.
Its programme focuses primarily on ceramics and painting, exploring both formal possibilities and conceptual depth. Artists are selected for the rigour of their practices, the coherence of their artistic language and their ability to question craftsmanship and gesture. Materiality becomes a means of reflecting on contemporary creation.
Initially recognised as a platform for the emerging French and Belgian scenes, the gallery has developed its position within the European contemporary art network. It supports its artists’ career development and the international presentation of their work.
Through its exhibitions, the gallery highlights the intrinsic value of materials and approaches technique as an artistic language in its own right.
