Active since 2013, Galleria Anna Marra is located in Rome’s historic Jewish Ghetto. Its spaces are characterised by minimal, contemporary architecture, reflected in exhibition projects developed in close collaboration with internationally recognised curators.

These collaborators include Larry Ossei-Mensah, formerly Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and Curator-at-Large at the Brooklyn Academy of Music; Alessandro Romanini, co-curator of the Ivory Coast Pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale; and Silvia Cirelli, Artistic Director and Chief Curator of Creative Emergencies and curator of the Woman Biennial at the Museum of Art of the City of Ravenna.

The gallery supports emerging and mid-career artists through exhibitions in its own space and public institutions, participation in international art fairs, and the publication of monographs and catalogues.

While maintaining a strong focus on Italian art, its programme is committed to international artistic research. In 2016, it began a series of exhibitions dedicated to American artists, followed by an extensive focus on the African diaspora. Its programme has subsequently expanded to include artists from South America, Africa and the Middle East, encouraging cultural exchange.

The gallery gives particular attention to artistic expressions addressing sociocultural and geopolitical questions, including Black experience and the status of women.
