Galerie Metzger
B10 ●Since 1996, the gallery has been a venue for contemporary art made from fired clay, the spectrum ranging from vessels to sculptural artworks. The focus is on engaging with the material – its power, its versatility and the countless possibilities it offers.
Artists from Germany and around the world display their own distinctive styles and approaches. They continually reimagine clay as an artistic medium and demonstrate just how far ceramics can extend beyond its traditional craft roots. For the gallery, it has long been an integral part of contemporary art.
Art does not need to explain. It may be moving, surprising, seductive, destructive, it may raise questions, arouse curiosity and accompany us for a while on our journey. Perhaps it is precisely here that its special power lies.
Thus for gallery owner Angelika Metzger, art is above all one thing:
A vital necessity!
To mark the 100th anniversary of Beate Kuhn’s birth, Galerie Metzger presents a solo exhibition at ceramic brussels dedicated to the work of this major German ceramic artist.
