Founded in Paris in 1988 by Marie-Hélène de La Forest Divonne, Galerie La Forest Divonne has been active in contemporary art for nearly forty years. Its founder sits on the board of the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art. The Paris gallery occupies the historic premises of Galerie Albert Loeb at 12 rue des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

In 2016, her son Jean de Malherbe left the Grand Palais to join the gallery and open a second space in Brussels. This gallery is now located in fully renovated premises at 130 avenue Louise.

The gallery represents around thirty international artists across generations, with particular attention to the French and Belgian scenes, especially painting. Its longstanding collaborations include Abidin Dino, a major twentieth-century Turkish artist; Lucien Hervé, Le Corbusier’s photographer and a reference in architectural photography; Vincent Bioulès, a founding figure of Supports / Surfaces; and Alexandre Hollan, whose work is represented in more than twenty European museums.

Alongside relationships developed over several decades, the gallery introduces artists whose reputations it has helped to build, including American painter Jeff Kowatch, monumental sculptor Jean-Bernard Métais and the duo Elsa & Johanna.
