Galerie Fontana
B2 ●Founded in 2011, Galerie Fontana is based in a former chocolate factory on the Lauriergracht in Amsterdam. In April 2025, it opened a second space in an elegant late-nineteenth-century residence in Brussels’ historic Grand Sablon district.
Its programme focuses on art that questions the present, reflecting the complex and sometimes raw realities of contemporary life. Across painting, sculpture, photography, installation and video, the gallery explores themes including humanity, vulnerability, the environment and mortality. It seeks works that challenge expectations, create surprise and encourage reflection.
Without adhering to a single curatorial doctrine, Fontana brings together internationally recognised artists and emerging talent, connected by a close attention to craftsmanship, material and meaning.
A sustainable, regional approach is central to its activities. By working with artists from the Benelux and France, the gallery seeks to limit the environmental impact of transport while strengthening local networks and creative communities.
Across its industrial setting in Amsterdam’s Jordaan and its historic space in Brussels, Fontana brings together aesthetic experience, experimentation and dialogue in an atmosphere that is both welcoming and intellectually engaged.
