Galerie du Passage / Antonine Catzéflis

A13 ●

Founded by Pierre Passebon in 1991, Galerie du Passage occupies two floors in the Galerie Véro-Dodat, one of Paris’ historic covered passages. It presents a broad selection of furniture and objets d’art from the nineteenth century to the present, reflecting the diversity of decorative arts. Temporary exhibitions, accompanied by publications, complement its displays and highlight both recognised artists and the traditions of artistic craftsmanship.

Since 2002, Antonine Catzéflis has developed a distinctive space on rue Saint-Roch, conceived from the outset as neither a conventional shop nor a traditional gallery. Its identity reflects her interest in strong artistic personalities, poetry, imagination and humour. Guided by affinities and unexpected encounters, she brings together artists whose perspectives on the world range from tenderness to incisive irony, united by an attentive and engaged approach.

Her selection gives particular attention to a younger generation of artists. Their works challenge expectations with elegance, avoiding both easy effects and provocation for its own sake. By bringing apparently contrasting artistic worlds into dialogue, Antonine Catzéflis creates an evolving setting in which collectors can discover new connections.

A friendship and shared sensibility connect Antonine Catzéflis and Pierre Passebon. Their common interest in ceramics and decorative arts encourages an approach that moves beyond established conventions in favour of poetry and aesthetic exploration.
