Founded in 2021, CHAxART is an intercultural initiative established by overseas Chinese in the Netherlands. It is dedicated to fostering meaningful exchange and integration between Eastern and Western cultures through the dual lenses of tea and contemporary art.

Positioned at the intersection of traditional tea culture and contemporary artistic practice, CHAxART engages both as powerful instruments for cultural dialogue, critical reflection, and embodied experience. Through a program of exhibitions, curated tea gatherings, and interdisciplinary collaborations across Rotterdam and Amsterdam, CHAxART brings together artists, scholars, designers, and tea practitioners to explore pressing themes such as migration, identity, heritage, and ritual.

By recontextualizing tea within contemporary cultural discourse, CHAxART offers a distinctive curatorial approach that bridges artistic practice and cultural heritage. Tea serves as a dynamic medium for fostering meaningful dialogue and exchange, encouraging deeper understanding and integration between Eastern and Western cultural perspectives.
